LIN Jing-Jie, born in 1967 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has been exploring different art media in writing, filmmaking and theatrical directing. He has won major literary prizes and is regarded as one of the most promising film directors in Taiwan. All of Lin's narrative films and documentaries show a very unique and powerful visual style. MY OWN PERSONAL GUN, his first commercial film, was the winner of Most Promising Director of the Year at the Taipei Film Festival and Best Jury Award at the Asia Pacific Film Festival. In addition, MY OWN PRIVATE GREEN ISLAND won him the new director award in Marseille, France. WE DON'T HAVE A FUTURE TOGETHER won for best actor at the Shanghai International Film Festival. STREET SURVIOR received the Best Taiwanese Film Award at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. Furthermore, THE MOST DISTANT COURSE is honored to be the opening Film at the 2007 Taipei International Film Festival and recently earned the Jury's Mention in the International Competition also at TIFF.
