Sing Song-Yong earned his doctoral degree in cinematography from the Institute of Performing Arts, Universite Paris Ouest - Nanterre La Defence, France. He teaches as an associate professor in the Graduate Institute of Animation and Film Art, Taiwan National University of the Arts, and serves as the director of the same institute. He is the chief editor of Art Critique of Taiwan and a nominator for the 14th Taishin Arts Award. He curated "The Eclipse of Documentary: The Transdisciplinary Intersection of Images", a program of the 8th Taiwan International Documentary Festival. His research interests coverthe aesthetics of contemporary Chinese cinema, contemporary art and cinema, as well as theories and aesthetics of contemporary French films. His recent publications include Tsai Ming-Liang: From Cinema to Contemporary/Art (2013) and Projecting Tsai Ming-Liang: Towards Transart Cinema (2015). |
