I think of you
As my eyes are drawn to you

And gradually disappear

Composing = decomposing. The main concern in this exhibition is the decomposition of reality or building up of it, which I view as the same thing.

When a substance dissolves into another, it experiences a breakdown of its properties and the process results in a new solution, this process is often irreversible. The same happens when an image dissolves into another image, the initial images are lost to create a new one.

In the piece with the same title as the exhibition, "The Whole World Dissolves When I Think of You", I wove together a photograph taken on a meadow, a small fragment of the world that I happened to observe in a specific moment and place, and a world map that encompasses humanity's way of understanding the world we live in. Through the weaving process, the microcosmic and macrocosmic worlds gradually blend together.

In another set of photographs, I've taken the images, broken them down and built new spacial realities with them. The initial destruction of the two-dimensional images gives way to a series of three-dimensional objects.

I also work with everyday objects. With the Evian cardboard box, I've taken the logo, which is an abstract symbol representing a mountain, and made a series of sculptural versions of it with ceramics, a reverse process that takes us further and further away from "reality".
